The Century Village WiFi system uses a 500Mbps Fiber-Optic connection to the Clubhouse and WiFi antennas located on every building throughout the community to provide Internet access to all residents for accessing the Internet, Web pages, Email, etc.
The system performs best with a laptop computer. Desktop computers or other wired or wireless devices will require a Repeater to access the system. Repeaters adapted to accommodate this system are available by calling the DSL Express WiFi Helpdesk at (561) 451-1222. A service technician is available to assist residents in connecting the Repeater if one is required (available for $24.99 plus tax) to their devices such as desktop computers and printers for a fixed service charge of $45.00 per device.
The Century Village WiFi system is a high-security system using the same encryption used by hospitals and university’s to secure wireless communications. It is therefore necessary to first obtain a username and password from the ID office in the Clubhouse (firstname.lastname@example.org). Once you have obtained your personal secured code, open your internet browser and go to http://wifi.dslx.net. Follow the onscreen instructions for auto-configuration of your computer. When prompted, login with the information furnished above. You may call the DSL Express WiFi Helpdesk at (561) 451-1222 for assistance in configuring your device. Telephone technical support hours for all users is available from 9 AM to 10 PM Mon thru Fri, excluding national holidays observed by DSL Express. The Century Village WiFi system is not designed to replace Comcast or AT&T for users that require high speed. The system is designed to provide a minimum of 1.0Mbps of speed with many users reporting 1.5Mbps to 3.0Mbps depending on their computer and signal strengths. Users using the WiFi system while still using Comcast or AT&T must turn off their Wireless Router if equipped when using the Century Village WiFi system.
We recognize that many of you have incurred problems with our WiFi system, and we are working with the provider to correct problems. Technicians from DSL Express will be in the Clubhouse on the second Monday of each month from 10 AM to 12 Noon to assist you. While they will not configure your devices at the Clubhouse, they will answer questions, open trouble tickets and take orders for Repeaters and service calls.
